Yarr... we haven't forgotten you, our persistent and ever loyal users. This will be an intermediate release containing several new features and bug fixes. Read on for details.
With the 2.7 release looming ever farther into the future, I've decided to cut a 2.6.4 release with the current round of bug fixes and enhancements.
Contract work has impeded progress on the 2.7 features considerably, pushing us back unexpectedly almost 4 months. We're now targeting a release sometime in January.
In the mean time, 2.6.4 will contain the following nifty enhancements:
- email gateway: attachments, html support improved, no longer requires imap library or PEAR
- new project tree to view ticket hierarchy
- administrator function to delete tickets
- fixes to search ticket popups
- new REST/HTTP API
- minor bug fixes
What's left for the 2.7 release? Here's the current feature list:
- new customer portal - flash based customer interface for help desk oriented use
- roles - permissions based on roles instead of configuring each user individually
- mass edit - ability to edit many tickets at once
- additional API features (notifications)
